At the RGG Summit, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio announced the latest entry in the Like A Dragon franchise (formerly known as “Yakuza”), “Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii“. The game sees longtime fan favorite character, Goro Majima, washed ashore in Hawaii and getting caught up in pirate themed shenanigans. The game is set for release for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam on February 28, 2025.
The story sees Majima as a man without his memories getting swept up in a conspiracy across Hawaii, Rich Islands, and Madlantis. With the help of the locals, Majima and his “Goro Pirates” looks to become legends among the people and discover a massive hidden treasure within the area. The game returns to the series action combat, with Majima adopting his usual “Mad-Dog Style” with a new “Sea Dog Style” involving cutlasses. The story seems to be set after 2024’s entry, Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth, which also took place in Hawaii. Similar to 2023’s Like A Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, this game looks to be a shorter, more compact experience, that still serves the heartfelt intensity that the games are known for.
Classic minigames such as Karaoke, Dragon Kart, Crazy Delivery return alongside a new mode for Hostesses called “Minato Girls.”
A Limited Edition bundle for Japan and Asia will include an A4 print, a Majima pop-up pirate toy, and Majima’s eyepatch and will cost approximately 19,800 JPY (Approx. 7,637 PHP)
Teasers for the upcoming live-action Like A Dragon: Yakuza as well as the recently announced “Yakuza Kiwami” for Nintendo Switch was also played during the event.
