Two of the HoYoverse’ biggest games finally collide! Honkai Impact 3rd has announced a collaboration in v7.9 with fellow HoYoVerse game Honkai: Star Rail. The release date will be announced at a later date. As of now, this collaboration is only for Honkai Impact 3rd

Honkai Impact 3rd has been one of the HoYoverse’ oldest running games, releasing way back in October 2016. A 3D action RPG, the game features fast paced action, a mission-based structure, and plethora of gacha mechanics. Recently, the game recieved a massive update on February 29, 2024. Honkai Impact 3rd Part 2 marked the start of the second major story arc of the game, updated the UI, and moved towards more open-world mechanics.
Despite the similar titles and being part of the same franchise, Honkai Impact 3rd and Honkai: Star Rail are mainly standalone stories. With certain characters from Honkai Impact 3rd making appearances in Honkai: Star Rail as alternate versions. Although connections between the two games do exist, we think its best not to spoil any of that for those who want to get into either game!
This isn’t actually the first time two HoYoVerse franchises have met. As Genshin Impact characters Fischl and Keqing was added to Honkai Impact 3rd last 2021. It’s expected the Honkai Star Rail characters included will play similarly to them. Although with the wider connection between the two, the trailer does promise a more substantial story between the two.
