As most gamers eagerly look forward to the next iterations of iconic handheld gaming consoles like the Steam Deck, ROG Ally, and let’s be honest, the Nintendo Switch, Taiwan-based MSI seems to be taking their sweet time with their own offering: the MSI Claw. Even though it’s not talked about as much as its most popular competitors, it does have quite a few things going for it – like the bigger screen and slightly more powerful CPU. Now, MSI has decided to add yet another possible selling point to try and get the attention of gamers, mainly those who are in the Philippines.
Part of some ongoing “6.6” mid-year sales promos, the MSI Claw has been included in some oncoming flash sales where buyers can buy it with hefty discounts of up to almost Php 15,000. To be more specific, the Claw’s flash sale price has been declared as being as low Php 31,095 only. That’s ROG Ally (Z1 Extreme) territory right there. If there was ever a reason to buy the Claw over many other alternatives, this one just might be it.
The MSI Claw is powered by Intel’s own Core Ultra 5 processor 135H, plus Intel Arc Graphics, 16GB LPDDR5 RAM, a 512GB SSD, and Windows 11 Home. It comes with a respectable Full HD 7-inch touchscreen that has a 120Hz refresh rate and an overall hardware package that makes it quite similar to other handhelds within its discounted price range.
The only thing is, its price drop does not seem to be permanent by any means – and is just part of MSI’s promo deals for mid-2024. It may be a sign of what the price will look like once some newer models drop, however. For now, though, this might be the cheapest that it’s going to be – so keep checking MSI’s official online stores for a chance to bag it quickly.
