One of the biggest gaming franchises around meets with one the biggest anime franchises around for some Combined Operations. In the lead up for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III Season 4’s release on May 29, 2024, the company shared on it’s social media a shadowy image of the iconic RX-78-2 Gundam from the original ‘Mobile Suit Gundam’ anime series overlooking a building.
The details of the collaboration was revealed on the Call of Duty the developers blog. Three Mobile Suit Gundam Tracer Packs based on the RX-78-2 Gundam and the MS-06S Zaku II from the original 1978 ‘Mobile Suit Gundam’ and the XVX-016 Gundam Aerial from the 2022 series ‘Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury’ will be part of the collaboration. The packs will include a variety of skins, blueprints, and additional decals that is sure to make Gundam fans very happy. Additionally, three brand-new Core 6v6 maps, an Unstable Rift to explore in Modern Warfare Zombies, and an Urzikstan mystery to solve before a potentially explosive countdown Event will also be part of the package.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III was released on November 10, 2023 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
